Stars of the bike world to race the final Apico 2-Stroke Festival round at Sellindge MX

Apico 2-Stroke Festival organiser, Dave Willet is pulling out all the stops to ensure that the final round of this years festival – which will be held at the recently revamped Sellindge MX circuit in Kent over the weekend of August 31/September 1 – will be one to remember.

The latest top rider to sign up for the event is world championship-level off-road all-rounder – and two-stroke fan, obviously – Nathan Watson who tried out the track at a recent Red Bull ride day and knew there and then that he’d be back to compete against the UK’s best two-stroke pilots on race weekend. His WESS buddy Billy Bolt will also be lining up alongside motorcycling legends like MotoGP star Bradley Smith and well-known motocrossers Mark Eastwood, David Campbell and the unstoppable Brian Wheeler.

As well as classes for modern day 125cc and 250cc/Open smokers, owners of Evo and Super Evo machines are catered for too and then there are the three kids’ classes which are open to Auto, 65 and 85cc competitors. With the event being held over the last weekend before most schools open up their doors again for the autumn term, the festival is the ideal way to spend a final, family summer-holiday weekend in the idyllic Kent countryside before the mundane Monday-to-Friday grind kicks in once more.

Entry fees for the ACU affiliated weekend are set at £50 for the weekend for registered riders across all classes with day licences and transponder hire available to anyone who needs it at an extra £10. Non-registered riders are £100.00 for the weekend. Autos, 65cc and 85cc riders are £90.00 for the weekend.
So don’t delay, get yourself booked in today.

MotoGP ace Bradley Smith set to race the final round of the 2019 Apico 2-Stroke Festival

He’s won world championship road races on two-strokes, and MotoGP star Bradley Smith just loves the sounds, smells and feel of riding the super-light smokers.

The Briton takes to the dirt on a 150cc KTM to get ready for his motocross race return at the Apico 2-Stroke Festival at Sellindge MX in Kent on August 31-September 1 2019.

He talks about his move from youth motocross to world championship road racing, what makes two-strokes so special and lots more.

Entries are now open for the final round at Sellindge MX on Aug 31st/Sept 1st. Follow the link here to enter.

Apico 2-Stroke Festival date change for final round

Due to the original dates for the 2-Stroke Festival round at Sellindge MX clashing with the Maxxis British Championship, we have decided it’s best to switch our dates and bring them forward to 31st August/1st September 2019 for our next round in Kent.

We’ve also got some good news on the cost front as we’re reducing the entry fee to £100 for adults and £90 for the 65cc/85cc groups for the weekend. What’s more, there’s a saving for registered riders as, those who paid their £75 registration fee will have the balance of it combined within the next round’s entry fee. This means that the £100 entry will be just £50 for registered riders! Please note that day licenses and transponders are an additional cost.

Adults will have prize money on the day and the opportunity to take part in the last one of two Red Bull training practice days with Jonny Walker and Nathan Watson at Sellindge Mx on 20th August

The youth scene is massively important to us at the 2-Stroke Festival and we believe that our £5000 85cc support package is one of the best out there. It will deliver a high-value opportunity to one lucky rider for 2020 – just ask Jack Grayshon, he was the lucky recipient of the support deal this year!

We’re striving to make this round at Sellindge one of the best yet and look forward to you joining us for what’s set to be a great weekend of old school racing and family fun.
